Waubonsee Hires Dean for Learning Enhancement

Dr. Medea Rambish, of Aurora, has been appointed Dean for Learning Enhancement and College Readiness at Waubonsee Community College.

Waubonsee Community College has appointed Dr. Medea Rambish, of Aurora, to the position of Dean for Learning Enhancement and College Readiness, and she began in the role Aug. 13.

Dr. Rambish spent five years teaching developmental reading and writing courses at both the community college and university level before transitioning into administrative roles. Since 2006, she has worked at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, Pa., serving first as the Director of Developmental Education and then as interim Dean of Academic Support Initiatives. In these roles, Dr. Rambish oversaw developmental education courses and services, including the college’s Achieving the Dream initiative and an adult basic education partnership; supervised the college’s library services; collaborated with other departments to track students’ academic progress and completion; and developed the college’s scheduling grid and academic calendar.

Dr. Rambish holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in language and literacy from Pennsylvania State University; developmental education specialist certification from the National Center for Developmental Education, Kellogg Institute at Appalachian State University; and a doctoral degree in higher education administration from Widener University.
