Steps to Getting Started at Waubonsee.
ADMISSION INFORMATION

Waubonsee welcomes all students who can benefit from the courses and programs we offer. Below you値l find some checklists to help you get started here. The steps you値l take depend on the kind of classes you want to enroll in and what your educational goals are.

NEW NONCREDIT STUDENT

Students interested in Community Education or Workforce Development courses should complete the Noncredit Registration Form.

 

NEW CREDIT STUDENT (full-time and/or degree-seeking)

Use this checklist if you are . . .

  1. Complete and submit the New Student Information Form. Once the form is processed by Admissions, you will be issued a student ID/X number that you will use throughout your Waubonsee career. (Note: This form cannot be submitted online. It must be printed and then submitted in person, by mail or by fax.)
  2. If you are interested, apply for financial aid. Visit www.waubonsee.edu/financialaid for step-by-step instructions.
  3. Obtain appropriate course placement in English and math based on your ACT scores, placement testing results or previous coursework. Visit our Course Placement page for more details.
  4. Complete your Electronic Registration and Planning (E-RAP) tutorial online, where you値l learn how to use the college catalog, credit schedule and your test scores to select courses. You値l then register and pay for your first semester of courses online. Beginning May 3, 2010, you can access E-RAP through the mywcc portal at mywcc.waubonsee.edu.
  5. Register for a free New Student Orientation session as you would for any other class. To view available dates and times, visit www.waubonsee.edu/schedules.

NEW CREDIT STUDENT (part-time and not seeking a degree)

Use this checklist if you are...

  • enrolling part-time (fewer than 12 credit hours)
  • don’t meet any criteria for “new full-time and/or degree-seeking student.”
  1. Complete and submit the New Student Information Form. Once the form is processed by Admissions, you will be issued a student ID/X number that you will use throughout your Waubonsee career. (Note: This form cannot be submitted online. It must be printed and then submitted in person, by mail or by fax.)

  2. If you plan to take English or math courses, obtain appropriate placement based on your ACT scores, placement testing results or previous coursework. Visit our Course Placement page for more details.
  3. Meet with an admissions representative prior to registering (highly recommended). Call (630) 466-7900, ext. 5756 or e-mail admissions@waubonsee.edu.
  4. Register for courses in person, by mail, or by fax. You can register at the same time you submit the New Student Information Form
  5. Full or partial tuition payment is due at the time of registration. See Payment Options.
 
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Current high school students 16 years of age or older will be permitted to enroll in credit courses for which they have met the prerequisites. Students must submit written authorization from their designated high school official noting course(s) to be taken and if course(s) will be used to meet high school requirements.   For more information, contact Registration and Records, (630) 466-7900, ext. 2370.

Enrollment is limited to 7 credit hours per semester.  Students who are also participating in dual enrollment programs may petition for an enrollment overload.

High school students younger than 16 years of age may be admitted to a credit course with the prior approval of the Dean for Enrollment Management and Student Life.  Letters of recommendation, transcripts and placement testing may also be required.  For more information, contact the office of the Dean for Enrollment Management and Student Life at (630) 466-7900, ext. 2969.
