This course is an introduction into computer numerical controls (CNC) used on industrial machining centers. Topics include the economics, operations, and set-up of CNC vertical machining centers and lathes used to manufacture consumer goods. Set-up procedures including measuring cutting tools, locating work coordinate offsets, and installing work-holding devices will be emphasized. Students will begin to prepare for National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) certifications. Recommended Prereq, MTT110, MTT111
