Waubonsee Community College recently won eight Communicator Awards in the 19th Annual Communicator Awards Competition, which is sponsored by the International Academy of the Visual Arts. 

Waubonsee Community College Director of Registration and Records/Registrar Marc Dale Jr. was recently appointed to the African American Heritage Advisory Board by the City Council of Aurora.

Waubonsee Community College has appointed Justin Hoshaw to the position of full-time Biology Instructor, effective Aug. 14. 

Waubonsee Community College student Johnathan Richards earned an award at the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Poster Contest last month.

This tax season, Waubonsee Community College’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program was able to return more than $1.3 million to the local economy. 

Waubonsee Community College Associate Professor of Political Science and History Richard Kiefer knew fairly early on that he wanted to teach; he just didn’t think he’d be doing it at the college level. Now, after 20 years of teaching in the Illinois community college system, he has been named Waubonsee’s Outstanding Faculty Member for 2013. 

Thanks to a purchase agreement in the amount of $1.5 million with developer Gorman & Company, downtown Aurora will continue its renaissance with the introduction of a mixed-use residential/retail development at the site of Waubonsee's historic former campus on Stolp Island.
