Waubonsee Art Exhibit Features Sculptural Paintings

“Slick Figure Ground Suggestion,” an enamel painting by artist Todd Reed, is one of 16 works included in his current solo show at Waubonsee Community College. The exhibit is running at the college’s Sugar Grove Campus through Sept. 19.

Waubonsee Community College is hosting “See You See You See,” an exhibit by artist Todd Reed, through Sept. 19 in the Dickson Center’s Arrowhead Room on the Sugar Grove Campus, Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Reed will talk about his work during a free lecture on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m. in room 150 of Bodie Hall, also located on the Sugar Grove Campus. 

“See You See You See” features 16 works, including 13 sculptural paintings created through the use of enamel on shaped aluminum surfaces.

Reed holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Illinois State University, a master’s degree from Governors State University and a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University. He has exhibited his work at a variety of venues throughout the region including the Layman Gallery at Lincoln College, McHenry County College, the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria and the South Bend Museum of Art.
