Waubonsee Instructor Named Teacher of the Year

Waubonsee Community College Adjunct Instructor Marissa Happ, of Aurora, was recently named Teacher of the Year by the Kids in Need Foundation for her work with children at Provena Mercy Medical Center.

Happ teaches a wide variety of students in her roles at both the hospital and the college. For the last eight years, she has worked with children hospitalized for behavioral health issues as a teacher and social worker at Provena Mercy. She has also spent more than two decades preparing the next generation of teachers as an adjunct instructor in Waubonsee’s early childhood education department.
