Waubonsee Welcomes Poet/Activist for World AIDS Day

To mark World AIDS Day, Waubonsee Community College welcomed AIDS activist/poet Steven Cordova to its Sugar Grove Campus on Thursday, Dec. 1. Cordova spoke about his activism, read his poetry and signed copies of his book entitled "Long Distance."

The event was sponsored by the college's Communications and Library Services division and the sociology department, along with several student organizations, including the Association for Creative Expression, Latinos Unidos, Students for a Diverse Society, Spectrum and Womyn 4 Womyn.
