Early Childhood Education

If you take early childhood education courses at Waubonsee, you'll be taught by faculty with years of practical experience working in their field. You'll get some practical experience of your own as you observe at one of the college's two on-site child care facilities.

Courses range from introduction to early childhood education through programs geared to train you to be an early childhood center administrator. Waubonsee has been approved by the Illinois Network of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies to offer several credentials as part of the "Gateways to Opportunity: Illinois Professional Development System."  In fact, starting academic year 2012-2013 Waubonsee will offer the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Credential Levels 2 and 4, Infant and Toddler Credential Levels 2 and 4, and the Illinois Director Credential Level I.

If interested, you can join Waubonsee's Student Chapter of Fox Valley Association for the Education of Young Children (associated with the National Association for Education of Young Children).
