The Dean’s List at Waubonsee Community College celebrates excellence among students who achieve a minimum 3.5 grade-point average out of a possible 4.0 while enrolled in at least six semester credit hours. 

The Waubonsee Community College Foundation recently welcomed a new member to the board of directors, Wamecca Rodriguez of Yorkville. 

In March 2020, the world changed, and so did my teaching. The Association for College and University Educators (ACUE) launched its first course, Effective Teaching Practices, in July 2019 and when I was included in the first, little did I know the impact it would have on my future teaching career. 

Attending college can expand one's life opportunities and allow future generations to break negative cycles. While it may not be the sole solution for overcoming generational disadvantages, it enhances earning potential and opens doors to a better quality of life. 

Waubonsee alumna Cheyanne Lowery, of Newark, has been gifted with a natural talent of artistic roller-skating since the age of eight. Her unwavering commitment to the sport has now paid off in an extraordinary way. 

Waubonsee Community College has announced the 2023 Support Staff Awards for Excellence. Awards were presented in each of three categories: Innovation and Creativity, Service and Quality, and Diversity and Inclusion. 

Waubonsee alumni Joe and Dan Christoffel, of Oswego, have a unique bond that sets them apart from typical siblings. Despite being ten years apart in age and in their academic journeys, they have followed almost identical paths leading to successful careers. Both brothers have excelled in their professional careers at Navistar Inc., working in separate cubicles rows apart. They attribute their success in the industry to their experiences at Waubonsee, recognizing the college's significant role in shaping their careers. 

Mary Baccheschi, Executive Administrative Coordinator to the President/Clerk of the Board, of Sycamore, was recognized for her exemplary professional service to an Illinois community college board by the Illinois Community College Trustees Association (ICCTA) at the June 2 ICCTA Awards Banquet in Normal. 

What do you want to be when you grow up? This question is common and comes up many times as children grow up. In high school, seniors are asked if they plan to attend college and what they plan to major in. As the career world has become more fluid, dynamic, and constantly in flux, this question reverberates well into adulthood. Now more than ever, people often change jobs, switch careers, and have diverse workforce experiences. This developmental process that occurs throughout our entire life, from childhood to adulthood, involves the development of our vocational identity.

Waubonsee Community College has appointed Bob Cofield, of Aurora, to the position of Dean for Health Professions and Public Service.
