Waubonsee to Break Ground on New Technical Education Center

Sugar Grove – Waubonsee Community College invites the public to attend a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Technical Education Center (TEC). The event will take place on Tuesday, April 23 at 2:30 p.m. on the south end of the Sugar Grove Campus.  

Chicago-Based Jazz Vocalist and Composer Alyssa Allgood Quintet to Perform at Waubonsee’s Sugar Grove Campus, April 6

Waubonsee Community College will host a free community concert featuring Chicago-based jazz vocalist and composer Alyssa Allgood. The event kicks off at the Sugar Grove Campus Auditorium on Saturday, April 6 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. 

Waubonsee, University of Central Missouri Agreement Supports Seamless Transfer from 2-Year to 4-Year Degree in Design and Drafting Technology

Students who are interested in pursuing careers in Computer Aided Design and Drafting can now take advantage of a new opportunity to seamlessly transfer their two-year degree from Waubonsee to a four-year degree in Design and Drafting Technology. This is possible thanks to a new articulation agreement between Waubonsee and the University of Central Missouri, with educational opportunities in Warrensburg and online.

Dr. Toya Webb Appointed Chief of Staff/Vice President of Strategy at Waubonsee Community College

At their March 20 meeting, the Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees officially appointed Dr. Toya Webb, of Barrington, as the college’s new Chief of Staff/Vice President of Strategy. She will officially assume the role on April 1. 

Waubonsee’s Aurora Downtown Campus Offering Bilingual Campus Tours to the Community

Waubonsee Community College is hosting guided Campus Tours for prospective students at its Aurora Downtown Campus, 18 S. River St., from March 25 to March 27. These family-friendly tours are open to the public and available in English and Spanish.

Waubonsee Hosting Career-Focused Open Houses at Aurora Fox Valley and Plano Campuses

Explore health care, tech majors, and other programs designed to kick-start your career at Waubonsee’s Open House events this spring. The Health Care Programs Open House will take place at the Aurora Fox Valley Campus on Saturday, March 23 from 10:30 a.m. to noon, followed by the Tech Programs Open House at the Plano Campus on Wednesday, April 3 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. These free events are open to the public. 

Waubonsee Celebrates Women’s History Month by Honoring Illinois Suffragists and Empowering Women in their Careers

Sugar Grove – In observance of Women's History Month in March, Waubonsee Community College will host a series of events to acknowledge and recognize women's significant role in American history and their contributions to society. These programs celebrate the achievements of women while recognizing the struggles they have faced throughout history. Admission to all events is free of charge and open to the public. 

Waubonsee’s High-Demand Summer Online Courses Help Students Near and Far

This summer, students who want to get ahead in their studies and continue toward graduation can take advantage of Waubonsee's high-demand summer courses, which are available at 40% of the cost of similar courses offered at four-year colleges. More than 145 courses are offered, most of which are transferable general education courses.
