Overview

In 2015, the CDC estimated that one in five adults has a disability—among school-age children, it’s one in six.

Companies and organizations recognize the importance of proactively adapting their practices and business models to positively affect those with disabilities. As a result, regardless of profession, insight into disabilities generates the sensitivity and energy to create change.

At Waubonsee, you can gain this insight with our Disabilities Studies curriculum, which gives students working definitions of disability types, expands understanding of the impact of a disability throughout a lifespan, and provides an overview of various disability models and stereotypes.

With a focus on Disability Studies, you can focus on improving the quality of life for all people.
