The Waubonsee Chiefs Baseball Team has been a perennial contender each spring.
Baseball fans can enjoy home games at the Chiefs' baseball diamond on the northeast side of the Sugar Grove Campus, directly east of Erickson Hall and Waubonsee's new Athletic Fieldhouse. Check the baseball schedule for contest dates, times and results.
Under the direction of long-time Coach Dave Randall, the Chiefs have flourished on the field the last several years. Waubonsee placed fourth in the nation at the recently completed 2014 NJCAA Division III World Series in Tyler, Texas, their third trip to the National Finals (2010, 2013 and 2014) in the last five years. The Chiefs won a school-record 39 games this past spring, eclipsing the mark of 38 set in 2013 when Waubonsee finished third in the nation. The Chiefs have been nationally ranked 15 of the last 20 years, including being tabbed 6th in 2013 and 4th in the final poll of 2014. The only non-scholarship program in the ISCC, the Chiefs have won the conference title three times (2010, 2011 and 2014) in the last five years.
Former Waubonsee player Brad Unger will be taking over the program for the 2015 season, looking to carry on the Chiefs' winning tradition.
