Mission

The mission of the Waubonsee Community College Foundation is to cultivate philanthropic donors, to responsibly steward its assets and to equitably award scholarships to students to help them achieve their educational goals.

Vision

The Waubonsee Community College Foundation will raise sufficient financial resources to provide meaningful scholarship assistance to all qualified students.

The Waubonsee Community College Foundation was chartered in 1978 as a 501(c)3 tax exempt, nonprofit organization.

Waubonsee Community College Students

Each year, the Foundation raises funds to provide scholarships for deserving area students. The Waubonsee Community College Foundation was able to provide 364 scholarship awards totaling almost $363,000 for the 2023-2024 academic year.

The Foundation Scholarship Application - for use during the 2024-2025 academic year -opens on November 1, 2023. For consideration, all students are encouraged to apply by

Emergency Needs Fund

Payment

The Emergency Needs Fund is sponsored by Waubonsee Community College Foundation to provide short-term assistance to keep students in school impacted by an immediate, unexpected, or unusual financial constraint (such as injury, death, catastrophe, food insecurity, housing insecurity, unexpected losses) and not to assist with long-term challenges.

Foundation Events

Whether celebrating partnerships across the communities we serve, honoring donors and recipients or raising valuable dollars to expand our scholarship program, the Foundation hosts a number of events each year in support of Waubonsee students.

Meet our Foundation Board

The Waubonsee Community College Foundation Board of Directors is made up of community members from the college district, a board of trustees liaison, the president of the college, the executive director of the Foundation, a treasurer and several college administrators who are ex-officio members.

Their tireless service has enabled us to shape the past, present and future support of so many Waubonsee students.
