Our YEP! camps energize (and educate!) kids!

Our youth enrichment camps are developed and managed by the staff and instructors of the Community Education Department at Waubonsee Community College and select partners. 

Spring Break 2020 Camps!

Make Your First Video Game | Ages 9-11
Learn the keys to designing a 2D platformer game. Conceptualization, play experience, level design, graphics, sounds and simple coding are just some of the concepts that you’ll explore. Meets at the Aurora Downtown Campus March 31-April 2. Registration CRN: 21263

3D Print Your Imagination | Ages 12-14
Use Waubonsee’s state-of-the-art design labs to create your own toy, figure or fashion accessory. You’ll be hands-on with design software and 3D printing equipment to sculpt and render your own 3D creation. Meets at the Sugar Grove Campus March 31-April 2. Registration CRN: 21264

ROBLOX Coders | Ages 9-11
This camp combines game design, coding, and FUN! Young entrepreneurs will also learn how to navigate ROBLOX’s fast-growing marketplace to publish their games. Meets at the Aurora Downtown Campus March 31-April 2. Registration CRN: 21277

Drone Adventures | Ages 9-11
Let the battles begin! In this hands-on, interactive, class you will learn how to safely fly drone robots. Working in teams, you will be able to code your drone to complete missions that will prepare you for the ultimate team challenge at the end of the week. Meets at the Sugar Grove Campus April 4-April 25. Registration CRN: 21265

Summer 2020 Camp Offerings

Check back for the Summer Schedule in Spring 2020. Waubonsee YEP! Program offers a variety of exciting camps all summer long in art, science, coding, tech, photography, fitness, and more. Each camp is grouped by the student's age so they are with kids their own age. Simply choose courses your student is interested in to create a half or full-day experience.

Specialty Camps for Summer 2020

YEP! 2019 - Horseback Riding

Horseback Riding (Ages 8-12)

Designed especially for those with little or no prior experience, learn how to ride as well as care for and groom a horse. Each day, you’ll take turns riding, grooming and learning more about our equine friends including the parts of a horse. In-between, you’ll even do themed crafts. Campers must wear Velcro® or tie shoes, socks, long pants, t-shirt (no spaghetti straps) and a riding or bicycle helmet. Safety restrictions dictate a maximum weight of 150 pounds. Note: This camp runs for three days and meets at Huntoon Stables in North Aurora.

YEP! 2019 - Theatre Arts Camp

Theatre Arts Camp (Ages 6-13)

Get in on the act this summer. Aspiring performers can make new friends, gain confidence and improve stage presence in this fun and supportive camp presented by Yorkville’s Fox Country Players. Led by theater professionals and educators, you’ll explore every aspect of live theater including acting, singing, dancing and stagecraft as you perform and help produce a Broadway style production. No prior experience is necessary to participate in this camp. Two tickets to the performance are included with registration!

Extended Hours for Summer 2020

YEP! 2019 - Extended Care

If you want a full day of Youth Enrichment Programs or just need more flexibility with drop-off and pick-up times, register for the Extended Hours options. These supervised sessions give you a chance to relax before, between and after your camps!

  • Early Care (8-9 a.m.)
  • Relaxation Station (Noon-1 p.m.)
  • Extended Care (4-5:30 p.m.)
