Vocational Skills Program

This computer based program is available to students in the GED or ESL programs. Free classes provide hands on computer experience, giving these students more marketable skills which can lead to greater success in the job search process. The only cost to the student is the purchase of the textbook. Available classes include: Introduction to Keyboarding, Basic Computer Literacy, Introduction to Excel, Introduction to Word Processing, and Introduction to Job Search Skills.

To qualify for the program:

  • GED students must have at least a 5th grade reading level
  • ESL students must be in Level 007 class or higher
  • Students must obtain their instructor’s signature verifying enrollment in appropriate level class on the registration form

Benefits:

  • Free 6 week computer course offered 4 times a year
  • Opportunity to develop and enhance computer skills
  • Book Loan program for students receiving Public Assistance
