The Youth Services Program helps students ages 16-21 overcome financial, social and educational barriers, and attain self sufficiency through education and training. This free program offers qualified students the opportunity to earn short term certificates in the following programs:
- Certified Nursing Assistant
- Phlebotomy
- Emergency Medical Technician
- Electrical Maintenance.
Other short term programs approved on an individual basis.
The Youth Services Program covers all program costs including tuition, fees, books and required supplies. Youth Services staff provides assistance to students in finding community resources, training in job search skills, finding a job, and completion of the GED program, if needed. The staff also supports the transition to long-term college programs, including assistance with completion of financial aid forms and scholarship applications. Limited assistance with transportation and child care costs is also available. In addition, the Youth Services Program offers an incentive program through which students can earn gift cards to local vendors in exchange for completing program requirements.
