The Waubonsee Chiefs participate in the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference. Waubonsee is also a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
Men compete in cross country, golf, basketball, tennis, baseball and soccer.

Women compete in cross country, volleyball, tennis, basketball, soccer, and softball.

NTHS encourages scholastic excellence in the applied science majors. Chapters exist at both the high school and college levels. MIG trains students for an annual statewide simulation of the Illinois General Assembly, learning about legislative and lobbying tactics, and parliamentary procedure. Yearly fee of $30 to participate.

This student-run newspaper is usually published every other week and offers interested students journalism experience.

  STUDENT GOVERNMENT

Student government provides the opportunity for a student-planned and operated system of creative projects. It provides one channel of communication through which the administration of the college and students may plan and discuss academic topics. All student government activities and elections are governed by a constitution voted on and approved by vote of the student body.

Student Senate:
The Waubonsee Student Senate is composed of 12 students. The senate president and five senators are elected in the spring while the remaining six senators are elected in the fall. The senate has open meetings and all students are invited to attend. Students are encouraged to share their ideas, problems and suggestions by using senate mailboxes in the Student Activities office, STC 126.

Student Trustee:
A student member of the Waubonsee Board of Trustees is elected during the spring election. This student attends all board of trustees meetings, representing the interests of Waubonsee students. The student trustee has a mailbox in STC 126 and can be contacted through the Student Activities office.
