Telecourses offer students the freedom to study independently. The course content is delivered through the combination of print materials (text, study guides) and video lessons. Students are not required to attend class lectures; however, an instructor is available to assist students for each telecourse. A list of offered telecourses and their syllabi can be found by clicking the appropriate semester above.

Textbooks and videos are available to students as soon as they register for a telecourse and exams are available the first day of each semester. Students are expected to finish their telecourse by the end of the semester in which they enrolled. Students are also encouraged to consult with a Waubonsee counselor before enrolling to ensure that the course they select satisfies their academic needs.

Note: Students may be required to take proctored exams at the Center for Learning Assessment for some telecourses. See the individual course syllabus for details.

DVD Viewing:

Borrow a complete set of videos for any telecourse from the Distance Learning Office at the Sugar Grove campus in Collins Hall, room 145. Most telecourse videos are available in DVD format. There is no fee for borrowing the telecourse videos and shipping is available. Please contact the Distance Learning Office at 630-466-2402 for details.

Online Viewing:

Several telecourses have videos available for viewing online at the producers’ web site. The service is free but requires a simple registration to obtain access.
