I'VE REGISTERED FOR AN ONLINE COURSE... NOW WHAT?

ONLINE ORIENTATION COURSE

Students new to online courses can register for a free online orientation course. This orientation will assist you in understanding the functionality of an online course.

System Requirements:
Category Supported / Suggested
Supported Internet Browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0, 5.5 (not SP1) and 6.x; Mozilla FireFox 1.5 or higher
Supported Operating Systems: Windows 98/2000/XP and higher; MAC OS 9.1 or OS X and higher
External Media: CD-ROM drive
Memory: 64MB minimum; 128 or more is suggested
Computer Speed (MHz): 100MHz minimum; 300MHz or more is suggested
Internet Connection: At least a 28.8kbps connection. 56k is better; broadband (DSL, Satellite, or Cable) is best.
Applications: WCC uses Microsoft Office exclusively (unless otherwise specified by the instructor). MS Office is available to students at significant discounts in the bookstore.
Suggested Internet Plugins: Macromedia Flash & Shockwave, Real Player, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Microsoft Word & Powerpoint Viewer, Java (Microsoft or SUN), QuickTime Player
Pop-up Blockers: No pop-up blockers are supported. WCC Online may occasionally generate popups that are required for correct operation. Please disable all blockers before using WCC Online.
Additional system requirements for online courses may vary. If your course is a HorizonLive course, or uses MathXL, you will want to check out your system to make sure you have all the necessary software. To do so, click the appropriate link below.
