Chiefs pound Lancers in ISCC action, improve to 13-6 overall

(Sugar Grove, IL.) - Waubonsee Community College overwhelmed visiting College of Lake County in three straight games to improve to 13-6 overall and 3-1 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference play. The Chiefs controlled most of the action en route to winning 25-13, 25-12 and 25-10.
Waubonsee was led by Mallory Jones who booked seven kills, eight digs and served up three aces. Rachel Lape registered 16 assists and had nine digs, while Alexandra Cox contributed eight kills and made four blocks. Hollie Fedderly chipped in with 11 assists, and Chelsey Ellen added three serving aces. Waubonsee, which entered the evening sixth nationally among all NJCAA Division II teams in serving aces with 148, tallied 11 more aces against the Lancers.
The Chiefs’ next match is this coming Thursday, September 22, when they travel to Freeport to take on Highland Community College in a 6:00 p.m. contest. Waubonsee will be on the road for the next month. The Chiefs do not return home until Thursday, October 20 when they host Illinois Valley Community College.
