(Plainfield, IL.) Waubonsee golfers carded a 301 to place sixth at the St. Francis University Fall Classic held at Wedgewood Golf Course in Plainfield. The Chiefs finished 13-over par, nine strokes behind first-place Aurora University's 292 total. The College of DuPage came in second just four strokes back of the Spartans. Nine of the 12 teams participating were four-year schools. Individually Waubonsee's Ram Rogue tied for eighth by firing a 1-over par 73. Olivet Nazarene University's Matt Winkleman shot a sizzling 5-under par 67 to win medalist honors, finishing three shots ahead of DuPage's Alex Keefe. The Chiefs' Jesse Denton tied for 17th with a 3-over par 75. Teammate Ben Melms was one stroke behind him with a 76, tying him for 17th out the 76 participants. Jackson Clark tied for 29th, just one shot back of Melms with a 5-over 77 to round out Waubonsee's scoring. Jacob Sanders ended the day with an 83, tying him for 50th overall.
