Waubonsee women slide to a 23rd place finish at a muddy Brissman-Lundeen Invitational

Waubonsee's Women’s Cross Country squad competed at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational hosted by Augustana College in Rock Island. On a wet, muddy course the Chiefs slide to a 23rd place finish overall. Sophomore Ripley Vonhoff led the way, finishing 66th out of 226 runners. The Aurora Christian High School alumnus dropped her time 1:17 from her previous best this fall, and ecliped her personal best by 12 seconds. Geneva High School graduate Kassidy Donohue came in 118th in a time of 28:22, while teammate Yasmine Esparza was just five seconds behind her in 122nd place. The Chiefs' Caitlyn Campbell placed 170th, and Jessica Prentice was not far behind her in 173rd place to round out Waubonsee's participants. Iowa Central Community College, the top ranked team in the latest NJCAA Division I poll, won both the women's and Men's races. The Chiefs are back in action Friday, September 30th at the Illinois Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships hosted by Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais.
