Chiefs hold on to remain unbeaten in ISCC, set new WCC mark with 14th straight win

Waubonsee again hung on to defeat visiting Prairie State 65-61 and break the program record for consecutive wins with their 14th straight victory. The Pioneers led 16-14 at the end of the first quarter before Waubonsee grabbed a 29-25 halftime lead by outscoring Prairie State 15-9 in the second period. The Chiefs (22-7, 13-0) took their biggest lead of the game midway through the third period when Libby Love scored off a nice pass from Jenae Rowe to make the score 40-31. Waubonsee then spent much of the rest of the game working to keep the Pioneers at bay. Love led Waubonsee with 22 points, including four baskets from long range. Rowe posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds to go with three assists and three steals. Julianna Wadsworth added 16 points and seven assists, while Coriesha Bailey chipped in with six assists and Elizabeth Skaggs snagged seven rebounds.
