Waubonsee improved to 8-4 overall with a lopsided 88-54 victory over the College of DuPage. The Lady Chiefs jumped out to a 24-11 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back in cruising to their fourth win in the last five games. Waubonsee forced the Chaparrals (6-5) into 15 turnovers in the first period alone and then extended their lead to 44-25 at the break. The Lady Chiefs' pressure defense and up-tempo play continued to help them add to their advantage as they took a 67-39 heading into the final quarter. Waubonsee shot 62 percent (20 of 32) in the second half and forced the Chaparrals into 30 turnovers for the game. The Lady Chiefs scored 34 of their points off those turnovers and out scored DuPage 52-18 in the paint.
Coach Jim Sury's squad employed a balanced attack, placing six of its' seven players in uniform in double figures. Coriesha Bailey led the way with 18 points to go with 10 assists, reaching double digits in assists for the second straight game. Jenae Rowe tallied 17 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out three assists and recorded three steals. Libby Love added 14 points and four assists, while Elizabeth Skaggs posted her sixth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 boards. Charissa Robinson booked 11 points and Tynia Flores contributed 10 points to round out Waubonsee's double-digit crew. The Lady Chiefs' seventh player, Jewel Hupe, chipped in with six points to go along with seven rebounds and six steals.
