Waubonsee once again could not hold on to an early lead and fell 77-68 at the College of Lake County. The Chiefs went to the locker room with a 37-32 lead at the break before the Lancers rallied. Lake County (14-11, 6-4) grabbed its biggest lead of the game at 10 points with 6 minutes left in the game. Despite outscoring the Lancers’ bench 32-12 for the game, the Chiefs (8-16, 3-7) could not recover down the stretch. Lake County kept the Chiefs off the boards, out rebounding Waubonsee 38-24 for the game and limiting them to just seven offensive boards and only nine second chance points.
Elliot McGaughy led Waubonsee with 17 points, while Naiem Johnson contributed a dozen points including a pair of three-point baskets. Zech Mauldin chipped in with 11 points and handed out three assists, John Stark reached double digits for the sixth straight game with 10 points, and Chris Bryson dished out four assists in the loss.
