Top-seeded Lady Chiefs sweep past PSC in ISCC Tournament Quarterfinals

Top-seeded Waubonsee opened play in the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Tournament with a relatively easy win over eighth-seeded Prairie State College. After the Lady Chiefs (29-13) coasted by the Pioneers in the first game 25-8, head coach Steve Kish used his starters sparingly the rest of the way. Waubonsee held off Prairie State to win game two 25-20, before rallying to win the third game 25-17 and end the Pioneers' season. Ellie Martin led Waubonsee with 25 assists, while Kaitlyn Richter had 11 kills and 10 digs. Allison Humes recorded seven kills and made three blocks, Laura Lyons tallied 16 digs and Ashley Prost registered four aces. Erin Bowe chipped in with a dozen digs, Shayna Tucek had 13 digs and Faith Montalbano posted six kills. Amber Konen also contributed six digs, Payton Klaas had five digs, Jordan Edwards added three digs and Kiley Colebank booked four kills in the victory.
