Day two of the Des Moines (IA) Area Community College Invitational Tournament proved to be as tough as day one. The Lady Chiefs dropped both of their matches, falling to 3rd-ranked Parkland College and the host school, 8th-ranked DMACC. Parkland entered the match with the best record in country at 35-2. The Cobras lived up to that high billing by knocking off Waubonsee in three straight games 25-21, 25-15 and 25-21. Laura Lyons contributed 10 kills, Kaitlyn Richter had a dozen digs, Erin Bowe added a couple of blocks and Ashley Prost registered 27 assists in the loss.

The Lady Chiefs then dropped another three-game match as DMACC (21-6) won by scores of 25-15, 25-16 and 26-24. Lyons led the way with seven kills, 14 digs and two blocks. Ellie Martin added 21 assists and served up two aces, while Bowe tallied 10 digs as Waubonsee fell to 23-11 overall on the season after going 1-3 against four ranked opponents.
