Waubonsee downed both Black Hawk East College and Rock Valley in a triangular meet in Rockford. The Lady Chiefs got past the Braves in three straight games winning game one 25-17, holding on for a 26-24 victory in game two, and then securing the match with a 25-15 triumph. Ellie Martin paced Waubonsee's offense with 33 assists and 11 digs. Erin Bowe recorded nine kills and 11 digs, while Faith Montalbano added eight kills and two blocks. Laura Lyons chipped in with eight kills, Allison Humes contributed two blocks and Shayna Tucek registered 11 digs in the victory that put Coach Steve Kish's squad over the .500 mark for the season at 7-6 overall.
Waubonsee then squeeked by Rock Valley in five games. The Lady Chiefs won the opener, breezing by the Golden Eagles 25-13. However, it was not that easy the rest of the way. Rock Valley evened things up by holding on to win game two 25-22. Waubonsee reversed that score in game three with a 25-22 triumph. The Golden Eagles then forced a fifth and deciding game by winning the fourth game 25-21. The Lady Chiefs won the match by hanging on for a 15-11 victory in game five. Erin Bowe led Waubonsee with a dozen kills and 15 digs. Laura Lyons tallied 10 kills and made 19 digs, while Allison Humes registered 11 kills and was credited with four blocks. Shayna Tucek added 24 digs, Kaitlyn Richter had four service aces and Ellie Martin compiled 42 assists in the hard fought win.
