Visiting McHenry County College edged the Lady Chiefs 5-4 to win their Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference match up. Tied at three after singles play, the Scots' duo of Lauren Edwards and Celina Kilhefner narrowly defeated Waubonsee's Danielle McCormack and Marina Conde at number two doubles in the decisive match. Edwards and Kilhefner pulled out a three set victory over McCormack and Conde, winning 6-7, 6-2 and 10-7 in the tie breaker. Jin Lee started things off for Waubonsee with a 6-1, 6-0 win at number one singles over Amber Fillmore. Karissa Schroeder dispatched of Edwards at number two singles in a similar fashion 6-1, 6-1. Kilhefner downed McCormack at number three singles 7-5, 6-2 before Conde won at number four singles for Waubonsee 6-2, 6-1 over Maggie Friday. The Scots then won both the number five and number six singles matches to even the score at three wins apiece. McHenry then defaulted on the number one doubles match to the Lady Chiefs' potent duo of Lee and Schroeder, setting the stage for the showdown at number two doubles. The Scots clinched the ISCC victory when McKenzie Burroughs and Rachelle Krausen paired up to beat Waubonsee's Cara Lenhardt and Elizabeth Berland 6-0, 6-0 at number three doubles.
