Aurora University Spartan Classic
Lady Chiefs finish first among Juco's, place 8th overall at Spartan Classic
Waubonsee's runner did well in just the second meet of the year. The Lady Chiefs placed eighth overall at the Spartan Classic, finishing first among the four junior college's that competed at the Oakhust Forest Preserve on Aurora's far east side. Waubonsee tallied a team score of 215, well ahead of Oakton Community College's score of 315. The University of Chicago won the team title with a score of 17 as the first seven runners to cross the finish line were all Maroons. Aurora University was a distant second with 45 points, well ahead of third place Wheaton College which tallied a team score of 122.
Once again Amanda Lesak paced Waubonsee's runners, finishing 34th overall in a time of 24:46. Jenn Howland placed 41st, covering the 6K course in a time of 25:36. Jazmin Zepeda was not far behind Howland in 43rd place, while Amanda Palmquist came in 47th, Ashley Leonetti finished 50th, and Elizabeth Berland was 67th out of 161 runners.
