Aurora University Spartan Classic
Chiefs place 10th out of 15 teams at Spartan Classic
Waubonsee's runners placed 10th out of fifteen schools participating at the Spartan Classic. The Chiefs recorded a team score of 313 to finish second out of the five junior college's competing at the Oakhurst Forest Preserve on Aurora's far east side. Harper College finished well ahead of the Chiefs, taking sixth overall with a score of 191. The University of Chicago grabbed the team title with a score of 18 as five of the top six runners were all Maroons. North Central College's Varsity squad placed second with a score of 41, while the Cardinals' Freshman squad was third with 81 points. The host school Aurora University was a distant fourth with 122 points.
The Chiefs' Nick Harrison came in 56th out of 193 runners to lead Waubonsee, covering the 8K course in a time of 28:51. Alec Gonzalez placed 60th, Brandon Huber was right behind him in 61st place, Abel Mosqueda finished 65th and Kristoffer Larsen crossed the finish line in 71st to round out the Chiefs' scoring. Servando Miranda (76th), Brad Kigyos (86th), Gonzalo Moreno (88th), Christopher Wido (93rd) and Jerimiah Febus (94th) also participated for the Chiefs.
