Waubonsee Chiefs' Invitational
Chiefs place first among juco squads at the Annual Chiefs' Invitational
Opponent: Prairie State, Sauk Valley and Elgin
Waubonsee began the 2013 season with a solid performance, finishing first among the four junior colleges participating in the Chiefs' Invitational. Aurora University, the lone four-year school in the field, dominted the race with 19 runners finishing in the top 22 spots. Waubonsee was led by Abel Mosqueda and Nick Harrison who placed 23rd and 24th respectively. Mosqueda traversed the 5-mile course in a time of 31:09 with Harrison just two seconds behind him. Alec Gonzalez finished 27th, with teammates Kristoffer Larsen, Brandon Huber and Adrian Alviar coming in 29th, 30th and 31st. Leo Guerrero (33rd), Brad Kigyos (37th), Christopher Wido (41st), Jerimiah Febus (42nd), Servando Miranda (47th) and Gonzalo Moreno (48th) rounded out the Chiefs participants. Aurora University's Jimmy Baeskens finished first in a time of 28:18. Praire State College's Louis Henderson was the top junior college runner, placing eighth overall with a time of 29:26.
