Spurred by the Nelson sisters, the Lady Chiefs (11-5, 2-0) raced out to a 51-25 halftime lead and never looked back en route to blasting McHenry County College 84-47 in Crystal Lake. Alexis Nelson and her sister LaDesha combined to score 28 first half points to out score the Scots all by themselves. Alexis booked 16 of her team-high 21 points in the first twenty minutes of play, while LaDesha scored all 12 of her points for the game before the intermission. Alexis also finished the game with five assists and four steals, while Dakota Collins handed out nine assists and made five steals.
Ashley Wilk posted yet another double-double, her eighth of the season, by tallying 19 points and grabbing 11 boards. In the Lady Chiefs' 16 games thus far, Wilk has reached double-digits in rebounds nine times and had eight or more boards in 12 games, including the last eight in a row. Currently she is 29th nationally among NJCAA Division II players in rebounds (10.1) per game, and 18th nationally in offensive boards (4.5) per contest. She has also reached double figures in points in all but three of the Lady Chiefs' games this season, and is in the midst of a 10-game streak of scoring 10 or more points. Over Waubonsee's last seven games Wilk is averaging 16.1 points and 12.1 rebounds per contest.
