The Lady Chiefs raced out to a huge lead and never looked back in routing Black Hawk College 96-46. Waubonsee (6-3) overwhelmed the Braves (0-5) from the outset taking a 30-8 lead midway through the first half. The Lady Chiefs then went on a 10-0 run to surge ahead 40-10 on their way to taking a 51-19 advantage heading into the locker room. Coach Dana Wagner emptied her bench midway through the first half with every player contributing to the lopsided victory. Early in the second half the Lady Chiefs went on a 17-0 run to increase their lead to 72-24 with 14:30 left in the game. Waubonsee eventually took its biggest lead at 53 points (94-41) with just 1:39 remaining.
Five Waubonsee players reached double figures in scoring led by Alexis Nelson's 15 points. The sophomore guard also made three steals as Waubonsee registered 18 thefts as a team while the Braves commited 30 turnovers. Sarah Grams netted 14 points, including making all eight of her free throw attempts. Ashley Wilk tallied 11 points, eight rebounds and dished out three assists. Emma Darby and LaDesha Nelson each booked 10 points as every Waubonsee players scored at least two points. Bailey Klaas added eight points and six rebounds, while Paige Beach handed out four assists. Brooke Harner made three steals, and Dakota Collins recorded five assists and made four steals in the victory. The Lady Chiefs finished the game 19 of 20 from the charity stripe for a sizzling 95 percent success rate.
