Waubonsee To Present Free Concerts

The Jazz Consortium Big Band is the special guest at Waubonsee's Jazz Band concert on Dec. 14.

During December, Waubonsee Community College will present four free concerts in the Auditorium of the college’s Sugar Grove Campus, Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive. No advance tickets are required. 

The Steel Band takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, while the Waubonsee Chorale and Chamberwinds Ensemble will perform on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 3 p.m.

The Jazz Band’s show is on Friday, Dec. 14, at 7:30 p.m. and will feature The Jazz Consortium Big Band as a special guest. This 17-piece ensemble plays music from big band icons like Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller, as well as more contemporary artists and their own original compositions. They have played at venues throughout Chicagoland, including an appearance at the Chicago Jazz Festival.   

Finishing out the month of music is Waubonsee’s Rock Band, with its 7:30 p.m. show on Saturday, Dec. 15.
