Waubonsee Offers Free Course to GED Students Transitioning to College

Waubonsee Community College will offer a free  information session on Thursday, Aug. 2, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in room 160A of the college’s downtown Aurora Campus, 18 S. River St., for students interested in its upcoming GED-to-college transition course.

The free course, which will meet four afternoons a week from August until December, is designed to further strengthen GED students’ basic skills while also expanding their knowledge of college terms and processes so that they can make a successful transition to higher education. To be eligible for the course, students must take the Test of Adult Basic Education and demonstrate an 11th or 12th grade reading level.
