CNA Instructor Train-the-Trainer Course
Certified Nursing Assistants are in demand and need training. Licensed Registered Nurses can now use their expertise and experience to become certified CNA Instructors through our five-day, state-approved Train-the-Trainer Course.
Class starts Friday, September 2. Deadline to register is Friday, August 12.
The CNA Instructor Train-the-Trainer Course is designed to provide licensed registered nurses the knowledge and skills to become a Certified Nurse Aide Instructor in Illinois. Successful completion of this five-day course will enable nurses to instruct both the classroom and the clinical components of a CNA program. This CNA Instructor Train-the-Trainer Course is approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and includes the lecture on Alzheimer's Disease and the Evaluator Workshop.
Steps to enroll:
- Review Ill. Administration Code 77, Section 395.160(a) for IDPH requirements for CNA Instructors and verify that you meet the specified requirements.
Please note: Waubonsee Community College makes every effort to ensure that Instructor Candidates meet IDPH requirements before enrolling Instructor candidates into the CNA Train-the-Trainer Course. However, the course is only one step in the process, and IDPH makes the final certification decision. Participants are responsible for ensuring they meet IDPH requirements.
- Complete and return an Applicant Professional Practice Qualifications Form and a Registration Form. Payment is due at time of registration.
Applicants will be notified by email if they were accepted into the CNA Instructor Train-the-Trainer Course. If not, payment will be returned.
