CNA Instructor Train-the-Trainer Course

Certified Nursing Assistants are in demand and need training. Licensed Registered Nurses can now use their expertise and experience to become certified CNA Instructors through our five-day, state-approved Train-the-Trainer Course. 

Class starts Friday, December 4.

The CNA Instructor Train-the-Trainer Course is designed to provide licensed registered nurses the knowledge and skills to become a Certified Nurse Aide Instructor in Illinois. Successful completion of this five-day course will enable nurses to instruct both the classroom and the clinical components of a CNA program. This CNA Instructor Train-the-Trainer Course is approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and includes the lecture on Alzheimer's Disease and the Evaluator Workshop. 

All class sessions meet from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Friday, December 4
  • Saturday, December 5
  • Friday, December 11
  • Saturday, December 12
  • Friday, December 18

Cost:   $599

Steps to enroll:

  1. Review Ill. Administration Code 77, Section 395.160(a) for IDPH requirements for CNA Instructors and verify that you meet the specified requirements.

    Please note: Waubonsee Community College makes every effort to ensure that Instructor Candidates meet IDPH requirements before enrolling Instructor candidates into the CNA Train-the-Trainer Course. However, the course is only one step in the process, and IDPH makes the final certification decision. Participants are responsible for ensuring they meet IDPH requirements.
  2. Applicant Professional Practice Qualifications Form

  3. Complete and return a Registration Form. Payment is due at time of registration.

    Applicants will be notified by email if they were accepted into the CNA Instructor Train-the-Trainer Course. If not, payment will be returned.
