Images of Lincoln

Sugar Grove Campus, Auditorium
Mark Pohlad, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of History of Art and Architecture, DePaul University
Lincoln was the first President to be extensively photographed. He once described his most frequent photographer, Mathew Brady, as "the man who put me in the White House." Using vivid, large-scale images, Pohlad will trace images of Lincoln and his circle while describing the nature and challenges of photography in the mid-19th century.
