Legal Interpreting
Legal interpreters are bilingual individuals who interpret in legal settings for persons whose primary language is not English. For those involved in a legal proceeding, communication is vital, and legal interpreters ensure justice is served by bridging language barriers.
Waubonsee offers a Certificate of Achievement in Legal Interpreting for bilingual students fluent in both English and Spanish. Legal Interpreting courses are offered at Waubonsee's Aurora Campus and are taught by qualified legal interpreters with years of courtroom experience.
A Growing Field
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, "Employment of interpreters and translators is projected to increase 22 percent over the 2008-18 decade, which is much faster than the average for all occupations." Be a part of a growing occupation - become a legal interpreter!
Professional Development Conference
Students and working interpreters are welcome to attend our annual Interpreters' Conference on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Aurora Campus. Learn more and register at www.waubonseetickets.com.
