Therapeutic techniques utilized include Swedish massage, joint movements, hydrotherapy, sports massage, stretching, muscle energy, myofascial techniques, trigger point therapy, foot reflexology, acupressure, Shiatsu, Jin Shin Do, Cranio-sacral therapy and others. Massage therapists need more than technical skills. To effectively use massage techniques, the therapist must be trained in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and pathology.
