Health Care Delivery Systems (HIT135)

2.0 Semester Hours

This course is an overview of the American health care system. It includes the study of the main components and issues of the organization, financing and delivery of health services in the U.S. The organization and operation of the modern acute hospital will be described and analyzed. Topics include: the role of federal and state governments, non-acute health care facilities, health care workforce, managed care, laws, accreditation, licensure and certification standards and reimbursements systems.

Recommended Prereq: HIT100 or concurrent enrollment.
