Graphic designers are experts in visual communication — posters, logos, ads and other pieces that communicate a message using images and typography. It is a creative field that combines art with technology.
As a Waubonsee graphic design student, you can take a variety of courses that deal with industry software, print design, Web design, 2-D and 3-D animation and portfolio building, among others. The curriculum includes both transfer and career-oriented programs, along with an internship option.
In addition to internships, you'll also have the opportunity to get out into the industry during the many field trips classes take to local graphic and printing industry businesses. It is essential for students to have a good knowledge base of the printing industry and how they operate since designers work very closely with printers.
