Volleyball at Waubonsee
Competing each fall, the Waubonsee Chiefs Volleyball team takes to the court for a new season.
Under the direction of head coach Steve Kish, Waubonsee's volleyball program has flourished. After just 10 wins his inaugural season, the Chiefs have won 35 matches each of the last two years. Last fall they captured the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) for the first time ever going undefeated (10-0) along the way. Waubonsee then went on to grab the Region IV Division II District B title and advanced to the 2014 NJCAA National Tournament in Phoenix, Arizona for the first time in school history, eventually placing 14th in the nation.
Led by NJCAA 3rd Team All-American Erin Bowe, Kish's crew went 70-24 overall the last two seasons. In 2013 Waubonsee went 35-8 with all eight losses coming to three different nationally-ranked teams. The 35 victories equaled the school record set in 1994. Waubonsee was also ranked in the top-25 nationally last fall for the first time in the program's history.
