The Waubonsee cheerleading team was established in 2011. The squad performs at home basketball games, pep rallies and special events throughout the school year. Tryouts are held each year in the fall and the team practices throughout the year. Team members are required to possess a minimum level of acrobatic skills and other criteria. The team also participates in regional cheerleading competitions when possible.

Program Highlights
In January 2012 Waubonsee’s cheerleaders took home three trophies in their first-ever competition at the Champion Spirit Group in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. The Chiefs cheerleaders won an award for choreography, took first-place in the College Division, and grabbed the Grand Champion trophy for best overall squad among 20 participating schools. Tryouts for 2014-2015
Tryouts for Waubonsee's Co-Ed Competitive Cheerleading squad will be held this coming fall in Erickson Hall on the Sugar Grove Campus. All participants are required to fill out an application form, which is available in the Waubonsee Athletic Office, also located in Erickson Hall. If you are unable to attend but would still like to try out for the squad, private tryouts will be available.

Each person trying out will be required to perform some minimum athletic skills.
