Eligibility:  1) Be a permanent resident of Dekalb County 2) Be a member of a family whose gross income does not exceed 125% of the poverty level.  The income is based on the last 90 days 3) Be of high academic potential and have a class rank and an ACT score at levels acceptable to the institution to which you are applying 4) Before the scholarship is awarded, you must be accepted at an accredited Illinois Institution.  These scholarships are not limited to four-year institutions.

THE ILLINOIS COMMUNITY COLLEGE FACULTY ASSOCIATION
Eligibility:  1) Applicants must maintain full-time status during the Spring 2008 and Fall 2008 semesters at an Illinois community college verified by official transcripts through the end of the Spring 2008 semester and a copy of Fall 2008 registration.  Full-time status is defined as enrollment in a minimum of 12 semester hours 2) Applicants must have completed 30 semester hours by the end of the Spring 2008 semester with a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.5 on a 4-point scale.  Cumulative GPA must be verified by an official transcript received in a sealed envelope with the registrar’s signature or seal to guarantee authenticity.  Only college level work and grades will be considered. 3) Applicant must provide proof of Illinois residency.  (Photocopy of Illinois Drivers License or other such document). 4) Applicant must provide a brief statement of his/her academic and personal goals, along with a description of unpaid , voluntary community service and campus activities. 5) Applicant must provide a letter of recommendation, on official college letterhead, from a community college faculty member.  The letter should address the candidate’s academic achievement, character, and ability to meet his/her goals 6) Each application must include the candidate’s complete mailing address, telephone number, Social Security Number, and be signed.  All sensitive information (SSN, etc.) will remain confidential and be viewed only by the members of the ICCFA Scholarship Committee.

The American Sign Language Project
Eligibility:  1) Must be fulltime undergraduate student 2) Have minimum 3.0 GPA  3) Have permanent U.S. residency  4) Be actively pursuing a major or minor in some area of Information Technology or Sign Language, but prefer the technology.  5) Be engaged in a research project involving noninvasive technology that will improve communication between Deaf/hearing people.  6) Complete application 7) Official Transcripts 8) A letter of recommendation (550-1000 words) from teacher who is familiar with the student academic record skills and abilities.  9) A 3-5 page description of a proposed research project, including project goals and time line.  Explain how the project fills a need not previously addressed. Include explanation of how the research will create noninvasive technology that will facilitate better communication.

Eligibility: 1) Are at least 25 years of age and wish to continue their education on a full or part-time basis 2) Attend any institution of higher learning in Kane and adjacent counties for the past 12 months 3) Are committed to completing at least a two year occupational/vocational associate degree program or two year baccalaureate/transfer associate degree program.  Selection criteria include sincerity of purpose, financial need, and academic aptitude.  The scholarship will be established in the name of the student with the school of choice for tuition and book expenses.
