You must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester, be pursuing an eligible degree or certificate program, and complete each of the following steps to receive a Stafford Loan:

1. Apply for Financial Aid
2. Return the signed Award Letter accepting loan(s)
3. Return a completed Student Loan Application form to the Financial Aid Office
4. Complete Mapping Your Future Loan Entrance Counseling Session.
   
5. Select a lender. If you are a first-time borrower at Waubonsee, you can select a lender from the list below or choose any Stafford loan lender that you prefer.
6. Complete the loan application/Master Promissory Note with the lender. If you are a first-time borrower at Waubonsee, you can do this on the lender web site.
   
   If you have previously borrowed while attending Waubonsee and your lender is not listed below, you should check with your current lender to make sure they will process your loan. If you stay with the same lender, you should not complete another application and Promissory Note, If you need to change lenders, notify the Financial Aid Office.
