Internships
An internship allows a student to acquire work experience directly related to a degree or certificate program, establish professional contacts and references, and of course, begin a career.

Certain programs at the college offer their students a for-credit option, and up to three semester hours can be earned under the close supervision of a faculty advisor and partnering employer.

For the 2009-2010 academic year, the for-credit option is available to students in the following programs who have completed prerequisite courses and/or received the consent of a faculty advisor.

  • Accounting
  • Administrative Office Systems
  • Auto Body Repair
  • Business
  • Computer Information Systems
  • Computer-Aided Design and Drafting
  • Construction Industry
  • Early Childhood Education Administration
  • Graphic Design
  • Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning
  • Industrial Technology
  • Radio/TV/Internet
  • Social Studies
  • Welding Technology

Students interested in earning credit during an internship are required to obtain a registration and agreement form from Career Services (STC 103). The internship coordinator will facilitate the registration process, and if needed, help search for available opportunities.

To learn more or schedule an appointment, please call Anderson Lee at (630) 466-5708.
