Beginning her fifth year in charge, Leslie Ferguson continues to steadily build the Lady Chiefs’ program. Last year Waubonsee enjoyed its best season ever under her leadership by going 8-8-2 overall, including an unprecedented six-game winning streak. As a matter of fact, on the foundation of Ferguson’s intense and tough style of play, the Lady Chiefs have eclipsed the win total of the previous season each year of her tenure.
Coach Ferguson is a 1996 graduate of Jacobs High School in Algonquin, where she played on the varsity all four years as a forward. A multi-sport athlete, Ferguson also played basketball and volleyball during her prep career. She returned to her alma mater to lead the freshman girls’ soccer team in 2004 and the junior varsity in 2005. She also served as the assistant varsity coach at South Elgin High School this past spring.

She helped lead the Eagles to a fifth place finish at the 1997 National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Finals. She was named to the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) All-Conference, North Central All-Region and was an Honorable Mention NCCAA All-American that year. She was one of Judson’s co-captains in 1999, when the team placed eighth in the nation. She was tabbed All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-American while also being named the Eagles Offensive Player of the Year and team MVP in 1999.
Coach Ferguson earned her degree in sports management from Judson in 2000, and a Physical Education K-12 teaching certificate in 2007.
