RAY ANDREWS
HEAD COACH

The 2007 season is Ray Andrews’ eighth season at the helm of the Chiefs’ soccer program. Over the years Waubonsee has always been consistently competitive under Andrews’ leadership while employing a tough and defensive style of play.

In his first year, Andrews guided the Chiefs to a third-place finish in the Skyway Conference. In 2002, the Chiefs finished 8-11 overall and won the title at the Wisconsin Invitational Tournament. Sixteen players have earned first team All-Conference honors during Andrews’ tenure, while more than twice that many have been named to the second team. Several players have also been tabbed to the All-Region IV first team under his guidance, including 2006 selection Tomasz Laszczkowski. Additionally, Waubonsee has had seven second team All-Region IV honorees in just the last two seasons alone.

Andrews came to Waubonsee after two years as head freshman soccer coach at Geneva High School, where his 1999 team went undefeated. He continues to coach select and traveling teams, including his own Under-16, Under-19 and men’s open team, known as “The Crew.” He has coached indoor and outdoor traveling teams with the Western Kane County Soccer Organization, American Youth Soccer Organization, Wheatland Athletic Association and Tri-County Soccer. He has also officiated games in each of these organizations.

Coach Andrews has earned Advanced Coaching certification with the American Youth Soccer Organization, a National USSF “D” license and the Illinois Sectional Certification for officiating youth soccer. He continues to compete in adult soccer leagues in the area. Andrews runs his own contracting company and lives in nearby Sugar Grove.
