Financial Aid Awareness Month Events

Each January-February, Waubonsee's Financial Aid Office marks Financial Aid Awareness Month with a series of free educational events that are open to both students and the community. The 2014 events are listed below. 

Students and parents are invited to attend one of these sessions to learn how financial aid works and obtain assistance with the completion of the 2014-2015 FAFSA. 2013 W2s and/or Federal Taxes Required.

Veteran Affairs Educational Benefits Seminar
A representative of the Illinois State Approving Agency will speak on educational benefits for student veterans and veteran’s dependent(s).

Student Loan Exit Counseling Session
This session is geared toward the student who is preparing to graduate or transfer at the end of the spring or summer semester. Exit Counseling is a requirement of the federal government to ensure that those with student loans are aware of their rights and responsibilities as borrowers -- even if their intention is to transfer to another school after attending Waubonsee. Students preparing to graduate will receive an invitation to participate in an Exit Counseling Session.
